Asbestos Surveys

We offer both domestic Asbestos surveys and commercial Asbestos surveys

The HSE publication HSG264 sets out the methodology for surveying any premises for asbestos containing materials (ACMs). It defines two types of Asbestos surveys.

Asbestos Management Survey :

The Management survey is the standard survey. It's purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect ACMs (Asbestos Containing Materials) in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and to assess their condition.

Asbestos Refurbishment / Demolition Survey :

A refurbishment / demolition survey is needed before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs ( Asbestos Containing Materials) in the areas where the refurbishment or demolition work will take place. The survey will be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those that may be difficult to reach. A refurbishment / demolition survey may also be required in other circumstances, e.g. when more intrusive maintenance and repair work will be carried out or for plant removal or dismantling.

Each Asbestos Survey Report includes;

• An asbestos register of ACMs
• Colour photographs of sampling points
• Site plans indicating each sampling point
• A certificate of analysis from a UKAS accredited laboratory
• A full report in PDF format
• Hard copy full report or CD copy available on request

The operations of Fibretech comply with the European Standard ISO 17020:2004 and all our Asbestos surveyors have P402 qualifications. All our work strictly follows the methodology presented in HSG264, the HSE document Asbestoe 'The Survey Guide'.
